At the chess club we knew him as "the gunslinger" - such was his chess, but as I started to know him I realised he was fundamentally a good and kind man. I relished his company and he shared meals with me and my wife Carol, and he was always both appreciative and fun. He will be missed by us all. May his soul repose in peace. Andrew Sangster
